A Day in the Life…

These activities are designed to teach you about the life cycle of fish, and how we use what we know of fish to develop fish-like swarming systems. Experimental and simulation activities are shaded with a red background in the lists below.

Beginner: A Day in the Life of a Fish

This curriculum sequence will take you through the life histories of the fish who inspire the BLIMP program, and start you down the path of getting your feet wet with some fish-inspired hands-on activities.


Intermediate: A Day in the Life of a Fishy Robot

This sequence uses your built BLIMP to understand how systems are designed to accomplish a task. You will also have the opportunity to use simulate how swarms of fish or fish-inspired robots move in the natural environment.


Advanced: A Day in the Life of a Mathematically Inclined Robot

Looking to up the challenge and put your math skills to the test? Learn how to create your own agent based model of swarming.
